B. Physiotherapy (Honours)

John is a fully qualified Physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Newcastle (Callaghan) with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours). Originally from Melbourne, John moved to Newcastle in 2013 and has since embraced the Novocastrian lifestyle. John’s Physiotherapy experience has also taken him further than Newcastle to a number of places across NSW including the Mid-North Coast, Central Coast and Sydney.

Whilst completing his professional training at University, John also worked alongside several sports teams in both soccer and AFL. In particular, John’s work with Broadmeadow Magic FC in the National Premier League gave him extensive exposure to high level sport from an early stage in his career.

John has worked with a variety of people from all walks of life including adolescents, athletes, adults and the elderly. His first official position as a Physiotherapist was in an aged care where he soon after saw the opportunity to pursue his professional career in private practice. John has since assessed, managed and treated a number issues such as neck/back/hip/knee/shoulder pain, ankle sprains, fractures, muscle sprains and tears. Throughout his sessions, he adopts effective treatment techniques which vary from soft tissue release, manual therapy, taping, muscle stretching, muscle strengthening and education.

John has completed additional training in Pilates and is also an APA member as well as an accredited Work Cover Physiotherapist.

Beyond his work life, John pursues his passion in music through electronic music production and live performances across Newcastle on a weekly basis. He also enjoys staying active by going to the gym.
